Nanakita Koen - Izumi, Sendai

kc@A

Nana Kita Park is a very spacious park which is eminently accessible, as it situated only a short walk from the Izumi Chuo subway station. It is a very large park, so if you ever get the urge to throw a frisbee, fly a kite, roller skate, play baseball, football or do anything that requires space, it is a great place to go. There are large areas of grass (well grass and weeds but who is complaining), a large pond and even a river, so there are lots of good places to have a picnic. If you have kids there is a large playground with lots of play equipment like slides, jungle jims etc, and plenty of places to ride a bicycle in safety. There is also a nice little observatory with a variety of tropical plants, a nice place to visit on a cold sunny day in winter. Now that we are in autumn there are lots of nice cool sunny days, perfect for picnics (and of course imonikai, and Nana Kita Koen is a nice place to have one..

How to get there
By Car
Take the road to Izumi from Sendai that goes through Kita Sendai (Just keep following Kami Sugi Dohri northwards.) After you pass Sendai Stadium turn left at the first set of lights (a police station on the corner) and then left again at the next traffic lights. There is a car park that costs about 100 per hour. It is about a 20 minute drive from Sendai Station.
By Train
The park is just a few minutes from Izumi Station on the Sendai Subway line.
